Custer Buster

We met my family in Custer South Dakota for a week of camping. We had a great time but the best part was for the first time my kids were playing with my nieces. It was the best moments of the entire trip.  Just hearing them play with the toys, shoot the water shooters when swimming, hear the giggles from them and seeing them respond so quickly to each other like they have known each other all along was amazing.  Jade caught her very first fish, a blue gill. Alex received a new tackle box made by my grandfather and he told us his favorite moment of the trip was getting that tackle box.  Ella went barefoot the entire time and was so excited to have another birthday party.  Reminiscing by the fire of camping trips growing up brought back some happy memories that were much needed.  The bottom line is this...
1 trip to Custer and home gas bill (using Piggly Wiggle points) $290.
1 trip to the emergency room and prescription $115
Food/Shopping/Hotel/Snacks $900.
Broken Brakes to be replaced on Wednesday (they went out in MN and we are lucky to be home safe)$alot more then I want to spend!
Childhood memories with cousins PRICELESS!!! thanks for reading xoxo

Marco...Polo

The summer pool is up and the kids have been having so much fun in it. Even though everyday there is a new hole somewhere that Kato has to fix, and we have to put air in it daily, check the chemicals, clean out the filter, and scoop out the dead bugs, bird poop, and lawn debris, its worth it. This might be the last year for this pool and I will have to say it was a good investment. This week its going to get its use with the temperatures up in the 90s! thanks for reading xoxo

Summer Sports Sampler HIKE!

Summer Sports Sampler began and we kicked it off with Football! I tackled the shuffling, back peddling, proper ball handling, passing, running back and quarterback positions as well as taught them the Eagles jumping jacks. By the time the two sessions ended I was so hot and sweaty I thought I was going to pass out. The kids did great despite the heat and the fact that we had to do it inside a gym. One more day of football then we begin soccer. Since its a sports sampler we just go through the few fundamentals of three different sports. We will end it with t-ball. I will have to say this group is the best group of 3 and 4 year olds EVER! thanks for reading xoxo

Mallards Game

The Sauk Prairie community was able to purchase discounted tickets to a Madison Mallards baseball game and so we decided to go. We got there early so the kids could play on the bouncy houses, pet the animals, get a bobblehead, and play on the playground. We each got a free Mallards hat too. While it would have been nice to watch the game the kids are just not at the age where they can sit and do that. So we left around the bottom of the 7th. We made a good decision cause it poured rain in the top of the 8th. I am not sure if they won but it was fun. thanks for reading xoxo

Madison Color Run 2013

The Madison Color Run was alot of fun despite the rain and cold. The powdery color thrown at you from every angle made for a messy finish. It has taken about two full weeks of scrubbing in the shower with an exfoliating scrub to get all the color off but I am officially clean. Since the race wasn't timed it was perfect for those who just want to have fun. I would like to do this one again and hopefully it won't rain! thanks for reading xoxo

Concert In The Park

Every other Tuesday night our community has a concert in the park. We have been going and its been fun. We bring a football, soccer ball, chairs, and snacks. The kids get to see other kids, we play catch, and get to listen to some great local bands. Jade and Ella enjoy looking for flowers and found one single yellow flower. Both girls had to enjoy it while they could. Thanks for reading xoxo

Im Spicy!

Alex has been broadening his food palate and has decided he loves jalapenos! He has to have them with milk and only eats a couple at a time.  I am really excited about this because that means next year when he is in the 3rd grade and I pack his lunch I can sneak a jalapeno in his meat sandwiches for fun. Despite his face he actually really does like them! thanks for reading xoxo
