Summer Sports Sampler HIKE!

Summer Sports Sampler began and we kicked it off with Football! I tackled the shuffling, back peddling, proper ball handling, passing, running back and quarterback positions as well as taught them the Eagles jumping jacks. By the time the two sessions ended I was so hot and sweaty I thought I was going to pass out. The kids did great despite the heat and the fact that we had to do it inside a gym. One more day of football then we begin soccer. Since its a sports sampler we just go through the few fundamentals of three different sports. We will end it with t-ball. I will have to say this group is the best group of 3 and 4 year olds EVER! thanks for reading xoxo

Mallards Game

The Sauk Prairie community was able to purchase discounted tickets to a Madison Mallards baseball game and so we decided to go. We got there early so the kids could play on the bouncy houses, pet the animals, get a bobblehead, and play on the playground. We each got a free Mallards hat too. While it would have been nice to watch the game the kids are just not at the age where they can sit and do that. So we left around the bottom of the 7th. We made a good decision cause it poured rain in the top of the 8th. I am not sure if they won but it was fun. thanks for reading xoxo

Madison Color Run 2013

The Madison Color Run was alot of fun despite the rain and cold. The powdery color thrown at you from every angle made for a messy finish. It has taken about two full weeks of scrubbing in the shower with an exfoliating scrub to get all the color off but I am officially clean. Since the race wasn't timed it was perfect for those who just want to have fun. I would like to do this one again and hopefully it won't rain! thanks for reading xoxo

Concert In The Park

Every other Tuesday night our community has a concert in the park. We have been going and its been fun. We bring a football, soccer ball, chairs, and snacks. The kids get to see other kids, we play catch, and get to listen to some great local bands. Jade and Ella enjoy looking for flowers and found one single yellow flower. Both girls had to enjoy it while they could. Thanks for reading xoxo

Im Spicy!

Alex has been broadening his food palate and has decided he loves jalapenos! He has to have them with milk and only eats a couple at a time.  I am really excited about this because that means next year when he is in the 3rd grade and I pack his lunch I can sneak a jalapeno in his meat sandwiches for fun. Despite his face he actually really does like them! thanks for reading xoxo

Coaching Tball

I started coaching Tball and love it! The kids are so eager to learn and play. Some are shy and hug their parents legs. We have been having such rainy weather that tball was cancelled twice now. I love my recreation department job and can't wait for the day where I can pursue it full time. Its perfect for me because I get to work with the kids, play sports, develop new programs, organize and run events and meet new people. I feel very blessed to be apart of this community in this way. I admit it's difficult having to take my own kids to work with me sometimes as I am sure its difficult for any parent having to take their kids to work with them but they get to see what I do and when I hear Alex tell his friends "yea my mom coaches tball" and they reply "really? thats cool!" I guess its a little worth it. I just have to remember this when they are hugging my leg when I am trying to work. thanks for reading xoxo

Mommy Time

I love having time with my daughters. They are so much fun and even tho they are only 2 and 4 they can hold their own when it comes to shopping. I took them to one of my favorite places, GiGi's Cupcakes. They picked orange cream and wedding cake, probably because both had "sparkles" on it. They gobbled them up and as soon as that sugar set in, OMG they were go go going! Its amazing how many people ask me if they are twins but I guess when they are only 2 pounds and 1 inch apart in size its easy to think that. We had a great day and by the time we were on our way home they both were asking non-stop "when are we gonna see dad?" Guess there is only so much "mommy time" they can take, or it was cause they were excited to show him their new outfits! thanks for reading xoxo
