Jades 1st Haircut
Jade and I went to get our hair cut today. It was Jades first hair cut and she did amazing! Our stylist was so wonderful with her too. Jade says she likes it and I think it will help when it comes time to brush it. At the end of her cut the stylist sprayed some sparkles in her hair. Next time Jade and I will go all out with hair and nails! I am very proud of my daughter and just love her to pieces! thanks for reading xoxo

Karate Tournament
Today was the Capital City Karate Tournament in DeForest. It was my first karate tournament and it was nothing like the movie Karate Kid. There were over 400 participants of all ages. There were only four people in my bracket. I competed in forms. I was up against a blue belt which is three ranks higher than mine, a red with black stripe which is about 5 or 6 belt rankings above mine and another orange belt. I lost by about 0.1 point to the blue belt. So although I did feel a little disappointed I quickly remembered this was my first tournament and I still beat out a red with black stripe besides 2nd place is something to be proud of. What can I say I am highly competitive. Next tournament I am going all out with some flippity flip stuff...well maybe. The tournament was very inspiring and I would like to focus on weapons and flippity flip stuff too. Thanks for reading xoxo

Ladies Football Weekend 2012
Ladies football weekend was the best one yet. We didn't meet any players, we didn't get our meals paid for by some random stranger, and we didn't win but the time spent with the ladies is the most therapeutic experience in itself. The retail therapy helped too. Julie and I got to spend two entire days just us, together, and we laughed and cried, and spent time just spending time. We shopped for baby stuff cause she's pregnant and I got to buy the baby her first pair of shoes! We swam in the pool, got caught in downpours, and ate like princesses. It was heaven. Saturday we met up with Dawn and Candy and enjoyed the company. We hit up Mill Street and enjoyed a slushy bar followed by some yummy carne asada tacos. We hunted for the Hawks but were not successful. Sunday was game day. We lost again although we should have won. For some reason Wilson needed more than eight tries and an extra time out to get the dang ball into the end zone and still wasn't able to succeed. Like we always say "next year ladies, we will win next year." We went to Sedona and spent the night. The place was beautiful. Being surrounded by mountains and gorgeous scenery was beyond spectacular. We went for a short hike and took in breathtaking views and saw a few lizards. We shopped till we dropped then headed out. If we ever decide to stay in a cardboard box on the side of a busy highway during rush hour and a hail storm I would be completely happy just having those ladies there. Mostly cause they snuggle like rock stars!! Thanks Ladies for another memorable Ladies Football Weekend. thanks for reading xoxo

Cow Chip Classic 2012
Cow Chip weekend falls on Labor Day weekend every year and our town gets busy. Cow poop flies and people come from all over to take their turn tossing it. We celebrate with parades, live music, good food, craft sale, and a 5k/10k run. I opted for the 5k this year in hopes to beat my last years time. I have been working so hard at getting my body back after having 4 kids I don't think it will ever be perfect but it will get to the point where I am happy with it. I had a very busy week with up to 13 kids and I hadn't been sleeping well. I hadn't eaten much on Friday cause I was so busy. Saturday morning at 8am the gun went off and I was on my way. I started off hating every footstep and thought there is no way I am going to finish. By the time I was headed for the finish line I was disappointed that I wasn't able to do better. I hadn't seen the clock yet so I wasn't really sure what my time was. It felt like many people had passed me and I was surly not going to beat my time. When I hit the final block I saw the time say 25 and I just about fell over. I had no idea how I did it but I ended up beating my last years time by 5 whole minutes. And I moved from 12th place last year to 5th!! Turns out I was really proud of my accomplishment and I should have a little more faith in my abilities to achieve my goals. thanks for reading xoxo
